Holiday Tree Planting 2024

Join the Wolf River Conservancy for a Holiday Tree Planting to give back to our local environment this holiday season!
Volunteers will spend a couple of hours in the morning getting a little dirty and having lots of fun, all while helping to make a lasting local impact.

We continue our urban reforestation efforts in New Chicago Park, planting during the dormant season when trees are not actively growing.
The dormant season is the best time for planting since the roots have more time to become established before leaves emerge.
These young trees will be planted along Leath Bayou in New Chicago Park, providing a needed riparian buffer in the floodplain.
