Dear Wolf River Conservancy Partner:

We are pleased to share with you that on August 5th, 2015, the Land Trust Alliance Accreditation Commission announced that the Wolf River Conservancy had been accepted as an “accredited” land trust. The WRC staff and board have been working toward this designation since mid-2012.

Only 1 out 5 or 20% of all land trusts in the United States are accredited by the L.T.A. Accreditation Commission. Achievement by the WRC of this designation illustrates our continued growth as a professional land trust and better prepares us to continue to deliver on our mission of protecting and enhancing the Wolf River and its watershed as a sustainable resource.

What does this mean to you our members and donor organizations?

  •  Excellence – The Conservancy’s land and business practices have been reviewed and audited by the L.T.A. Commission and have been found to operate at an exceptional level of performance and ethics.
  •  Trust – With this designation our current members and donors along with future landowners that wish to participate in a conservation project with the WRC can be assured we will be a professional partner adhering to all government and ethical standards toward land conservation.
  •  Performance - The L.T.A. Commission establishes certain financial benchmarks to assure that an accredited land trust has adequate financial resources to remain sustainable and deliver on the commitment to protect its land conservation easements and to be good stewards of its fee- simple owned lands.

Congratulations and thanks to the WRC Staff and Board of Directors for helping us to achieve this important milestone for the WRC!
