A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Wolf River Conservancy Partner:

Thanks to your support, 2015 has been another monumental year. It has also been a special year for us, as we celebrated the 30th anniversary of our founding in 1985. We are proud to share the highlights of 2015 which have been mission priorities of the Wolf River Conservancy since our beginning, including:

Land Conservation Priorities: We have protected over 15,000 acres since 1985 – a size greater than 3 Shelby Farms Parks and over 44 Overton Parks. This year alone, we protected 624 acres, including the Triple Z Property, an important 215 acre property near the Shelby-Fayette County border and the Cannon Tract, another important 252-acre parcel high in conservation value.
Educational Impact: Through our educational programs, workshops and classroom instruction, we have connected with over 3,077 children and 759 adults this year.
Outreach Accomplishments: Over 667 paddlers participated in our recreation and outreach trips, experiencing the Wonder of the Wolf firsthand.
Land Trust Accreditation: The Wolf River Conservancy joined an elite group of accredited land trusts this year. After a 27-month extensive process, we earned national recognition as an accredited land trust committed to transparency, excellence and permanence, an award given to fewer than 20% of land trusts in the United States.
Wolf River Greenway Project: The official groundbreaking for the Wolf River Greenway took place in September with major construction beginning in 2016. A number of public engagement workshops and stakeholder meetings have taken place as an opportunity for the community to provide feedback on the project.

These accomplishments would not be possible without the ongoing support from our members and donors. We are grateful for the generosity you have already shown in 2015. With that in mind, I am asking that you consider a special year-end gift to the Wolf River Conservancy. You can make your gift online at this link. With your help, we are confident that we can achieve our goals in 2016.

Thank you for doing your part to preserve the Wonder of the Wolf!

Happy Holidays!

Keith Cole
Executive Director
