A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Wolf River Conservancy Friend:

As you all prepare to enjoy this holiday season with family and friends, we at the Wolf River Conservancy want to extend our Warmest Holiday Wishes to Everyone!

Although the staff at the Conservancy is also looking forward to enjoying the holidays with family and friends, we know that the mission of our organization never takes a vacation.  That is why we are so fortunate to have such a committed board of directors and staff working throughout the year to deliver on our mission to “preserve and protect the Wolf River watershed as a sustainable resource.”

As we come to the end of a very productive year for the Wolf River Conservancy, we would like to share with you a “sneak peek” at what is ahead for us in early 2018.

  • The board of directors should conclude their work in recasting the Conservancy’s strategic plan. The new plan will guide the priorities of the Conservancy during the years of 2018-2022.
  • Epping Way and Kennedy Park, the newest segments of the Wolf River Greenway trail, should both open in the 1st quarter of the year with official ribbon cutting ceremonies in late spring.
  • The “Walnut Grove to TVA Powerline” portion of the Greenway (Segment 14B) is under construction and should open in mid-2018.
  • Our 13th Annual Tree Planting event will be on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Shelby Farms Park.  Hope to see you there!
  • The successful purchase of two key properties totaling approximately 165 acres is in its final stages and will be announced in the 1st quarter of 2018.

As always, you can visit wolfriver.org to see the activities we have planned for the beginning of the new year.

We can only deliver on our mission with your continued financial contributions.  Thanks to the generous challenge grant from an Anonymous Friend of the Conservancy, every $1 you donate will be matched by another $1 through December 31, 2017. Please visit https://www.wolfriver.org/give- to make an online gift, and THANK YOU in advance for your generous support of the Wolf River Conservancy!

Executive Director
