Discover the Greenway Raises Over $43,000!

Discover the Greenway, the Conservancy’s newest fundraising event was a great success with 166 participants biking, walking, or running along the Wolf River Greenway and raising $43,111 to support the work of the Wolf River Conservancy!  Fundraising for Discover the Greenway will continue through June 30th.  The 166 participants included individuals and families from all across our community, all practicing social distancing while discovering the open sections of the Wolf River Greenway. Amazingly, there were over 200 selfies submitted to us during the two-week time period (June 6-20).

Discover the Greenway was created to replace our 15-year annual event, Cycle the Greenway.  Due to the challenges presented to us during the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to pivot to an event that would be just as fun, safe for all participants, and also capable of raising the funds needed to deliver on the Conservancy’s mission.  So how do you turn a one-day cycling event with over 100 people into a safe, secure event that still provides lots of fun and prizes? Well, you send them on a scavenger hunt over a 2-week time period along the Greenway, that’s how!  Whether you biked, ran or walked, all you had to was find the hidden selfie sites and snap a picture.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor: Jim Keras Subaru - Hacks Crossing Dealership
