A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Wolf River Conservancy Partner:

This month, I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight the environmental education outreach activities provided by the Wolf River Conservancy for our community. The WRC Director of Education is Cathy Justis, who possesses a background in biology and both a passion for the Conservancy’s mission and an understanding of the importance of educating children, young people, and adults about the Wolf River, our water resources, and the natural world we live in.
Under Cathy’s capable leadership and with the support of Buckman, International Paper, FedEx, and our members and donors, our 2015 environmental outreach program was able to provide:

 Educational programming for a combined total of 3,900 adults and school age children.
 Two Educator Workshops focused on water with over 40 participating teachers, non-formal educators and other adults. More workshops will be held this March.
 Our Summer Lecture Series (free to members) with four different speakers in 2015. We are now lining up our speakers for 2016 – stay tuned!
 Our unique Frog Chorus Walk and Wolf River Stream Stroll.
 Service projects to improve storm water runoff, remove exotic invasive plants, and create habitat with native plants.
 Significant improvements to the Wolf River Conservancy education resource pages on the WRC website, which strives to be the go-to source for all questions about the Wolf River Watershed.
 Customized presentations for public and private schools and community groups.
      And so much more…..

Our environmental education program remains robust and is an important component of our outreach to the community. As a member and donor, you play an important role in the Wolf River Conservancy’s capacity to provide these high quality educational opportunities on an ongoing basis.
Please plan to attend any of the activities on the WRC calendar for 2016, and thank you for your continued support of the Wolf River Conservancy!

Keith Cole
Executive Director
