Join Our Virtual Volunteer Project on June 5th!

Wolf River Conservancy is partnering with Memphis Transformed to provide the first of a day-long series of projects through Volunteer Odyssey.  The project begins at 10am, Friday, June 5th, on Facebook Live with a 10 minute show-and-tell.  Volunteers will then adopt a nearby storm drain and clean it out, removing litter, leaves, sticks, and debris.  Our storm drain system is connected directly to our streams and rivers, meaning anything that goes down a storm drain can impact water quality.  Blocked storm drains can cause floods and damage in heavy rains.  Keeping storm drains clean is a great way to improve our infrastructure for the benefit of both people and the environment.  You can also let your neighbors know that they should never pour paint, lawn chemicals, motor oil, gasoline, or anything else down a storm drain because it will end up in a waterway where it can harm wildlife and people.
