About Us Events & Activities Conservation Education Greenway Get Involved

Dear Wolf River Conservancy Partner:

If there was ever any question about the interest in water issues and the desire for more water education resources, it was certainly put to rest with the registration of over 40 educators for the Project WET Water Workshop facilitated by WRC Director of Education Cathy Justis on July 25th. Project WET is internationally recognized for its award-winning water education materials.

As this group of public and private educators becomes better equipped to teach students about the Wolf River, the Memphis Sand Aquifer, conservation, and other water-related issues, we hope that students will also share what they learn with their families and peers to help to build a community committed to protecting our abundant and inexpensive clean drinking water. Project WET is taught around the world, including in communities where water is very limited in quantity, quality, or accessibility.

Our thanks to Buckman, whose generous underwriting of our Project WET workshops allow all participants to attend and receive all materials at no cost. We appreciate Buckman's continued financial support for our environmental education program.

The Wolf River Conservancy is currently completing a new strategic plan which will guide us for the next five years. Environmental education will continue to be a core tenet of the Conservancy’s mission. Will Bladt, a WRC board member and Chair of the Education Committee, has assembled a highly qualified group of community educators to help us look to the future to ensure that we remain relevant and effective in our educational outreach.
