June 2020: A Message from our Director

Dear Wolf River Conservancy friend,

During these continuing “Pandemic” times, I am frequently asked “How is the Wolf River Conservancy doing?” Without attempting to sound boastful, I will generally reply that we are doing pretty well.

Just as many organizations have been required to do, we have had to dig deep and flex our creative muscles in order to pivot into news ways to engage donors, volunteers, community members while delivering on our mission.  What does that mean? Let me give you a quick overview of what each of our staff members has been doing lately:

Jackie Doyle (Office Manager) – Continues to keep our office functioning remotely, paying invoices, deposits, phone communications, and supporting the entire team in so many ways.

Findley Frazer (Greenway Project Coordinator) – Coordinating the construction of four miles of new Wolf River Greenway.

Jim Gafford (Director of Outreach) – Coordinating our volunteer river guides and leading small group Eco Tours on the Wolf River for our 2019 Greenway Soiree auction winners while planning for safe future paddling activities.

Ryan Hall (Director of Conservation) – Currently working on two significant land transactions and recently applied for the Conservancy's re-accreditation by the Land Trust Alliance.

Kelsey Hamilton (Chief Development Officer) – Adapting our strategic communications, overseeing major gifts fundraising, fostering government relations and identifying community engagement opportunities.

Cathy Justis (Director of Education) – Coordinating and conducting online educational programs for adults and youth, and leading small groups in outdoor activities (check the Activity Calendar here). She also edits the monthly enewsletter and other publications.

Mark Jordan (Director of Development) – Just completed our first virtual Discover the Greenway event, an outstanding success and a great learning opportunity for our WRC team and volunteer committee.

Bob Rogalski (Chief Financial Officer) – Guiding our organization during these uncertain financial times. By the way, he is doing a fine job of this!

Matt Winemiller (Development and Marketing Manager) – Continues to create engaging external communications to insure you are well-informed.

Nick Wiggins (Community Conservation Manager) – Visits the Wolf River Greenway almost daily to ensure you have a pleasant, safe experience. You can also thank Nick for our wonderful drone video content!

We are so fortunate to have such a committed and qualified staff delivering on our mission everyday. Thanks to you all for your continued support!
