About Us Events & Activities Conservation Education Greenway Get Involved

Dear Wolf River Conservancy Friend:

With 2017 winding down and the holiday season upon us, I want to thank you all for the support that you have already demonstrated to the Wolf River Conservancy this year.  Your generosity both financially and in volunteer hours has enabled us to remain focused on protecting woods, water and wildlife.

In addition to having protected over 16,000 acres within the Wolf River watershed since our founding in 1985 - clearly the Conservancy’s most important accomplishment, thanks to you - we are moving forward in other significant ways.  Some notable achievements this year include:

  • The first new segment of the expanded Wolf River Greenway Trail, at the North End of Mud Island where the Wolf meets the Mississippi, opened in October; two additional segments will be completed by year end; and a fourth new segment (from the existing Greenway Trail at Walnut Grove & Humphreys northward towards Shelby Farms Park) is currently under construction.
  • Over 2,500 children, teens, adults, and families have been inspired by our educational programming focused on conservation, water, wildlife and ecology.
  • Families and friends experienced the Wonder of the Wolf on over 50 paddling trips led by our volunteer River Guides, on various segments of the Wolf River including the Ghost River and Lost Swamp sections.

Earlier this month at our Greenway Soirée, we launched the Sustaining the Wolf campaign to ensure that our mission of protecting and preserving the Wolf River continues today and into the future. Now, through a generous challenge grant from a Friend of the Wolf River Conservancy, all unrestricted gifts will be matched – dollar for dollar – up to $150,000 through December 31st.

Would you please consider making  a year-end gift that would be doubled through this challenge grant?  Together we can make tremendous strides in reaching our $150,000 goal before the December 31 deadline.  Please join us in Sustaining the Wolf and helping us broaden our conservation efforts.  We are grateful for your continued support.

Executive Director
