A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Wolf River Conservancy Partner:

This week, the Wolf River Greenway was front page news in The Commercial Appeal . The article discussed the Wolf River Conservancy's plans to repurpose the important and historic Epping Forest Manor property located in Raleigh as the Wolf River Greenway is constructed. Of course we agree this is big news, and we appreciate the support of the Commercial Appeal and their sharing this great story with the community.

At the Conservancy, we generally refer to the Epping Forest Manor property as Epping Way. On the Greenway map on the WRC website you can see the Epping way property at the bend of the river, about halfway between downtown and Germantown in the Raleigh area off James Rd. Building the Greenway through this property is a tremendous opportunity to provide access for our community to this wonderful green space.

We frequently refer to the Wolf River Greenway as a "corridor of opportunity" and Epping Way is certainly one of those opportunities. We anticipate discovering many more such opportunities along the way as we complete construction .

Until then, we are hosting a series of open house public meetings to garner feedback from the community so we can better understand how people want to use the Greenway and what other opportunities exist. The response so far has been very positive!

Please join us tonight (Oct. 27) and tomorrow night (Oct. 28) for our next open house events. If you can’t attend, then please share your feedback with us by filling out the short survey at this link.

As always, we encourage you to visit our website to learn more about all of our activities. Thanks for your continued support!

Keith Cole
Executive Director
