On the Greenway: Wildflower Wander and Turtle Trek

Join us Saturdays along the Wolf River Greenway to learn more about the native plant and animal species of the Wolf River watershed. Our naturalist guides will lead walks at two Greenway locations starting at 9:30am. Wildflower Wander at Epping Way focuses on a half-acre strip of native wildflowers planted between a no-till agricultural field and the Wolf River Greenway trail.  In addition to beautiful flowers, there will be numerous butterflies, bees and other pollinators visiting them.  Turtle Trek at Kennedy Park showcases the excellent turtle habitat in a former channel of the Wolf River adjacent to the Wolf River Greenway trail, where turtles nearly always be seen basking on logs. These walks are free and open to all ages and take place on ADA-accessible paved trails.
