On the Greenway: New Kirby Trailhead Opening

City of Memphis Parks & Neighborhoods and the Wolf River Conservancy celebrated the ribbon-cutting and formal opening of the Kirby Trailhead of the Wolf River Greenway on Monday, July 26th.

"The recreational aspects, the hiking and biking lead to improved health incomes. We need that in our community. People need access to green spaces such as this. Since the pandemic, the desire for and value of green spaces and getting outside have been elevated to a great degree,” said Keith Cole, Executive Director, Wolf River Conservancy.

The Kirby Trailhead, or Phase 3A of the project, includes a parking lot with 24 spaces and additional picnic tables along the East Memphis portion of the Greenway. For more information about this section and progress of the Wolf River Greenway project, please visit www.wolfriver.org/greenway.
