September 2021: A Message from Our Director

Dear Wolf River Conservancy friend,

I hope everyone is enjoying this fall weather as much as I am, with much cooler temperatures and the leaves beginning to turn a multitude of beautiful fall colors. You may also be thinking about other milestones that come with the last quarter of the year…such as the Greenway Soiree, our signature fundraising event traditionally held in early November.

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision not to celebrate in person this year for everyone’s safety and health. In place of the in-person event we will carry on the spirit of the Greenway Soiree with an online auction which will open for bids beginning Monday, Nov. 1st, and close on Saturday Nov. 6th, at 8:00pm. During that week we will also release a new and exciting video highlighting the progress made on the Wolf River Greenway in 2021, including the new bridge which connects the Wolf River Greenway to the Shelby Farms Greenline via the Lucius Burch State Natural Area!

We do want to recognize our Presenting Sponsor, Ring Container Technologies, for its continuing support of the Greenway Soiree event as well as its support of the Wolf River Conservancy during the year. We also wish to thank our Platinum Sponsors, Brother International and International Paper; our Gold Sponsors, Buckman, Crews Development, and Permatrak; and our Bronze Sponsors, Duncan Williams Asset Management and Urban Earth.

Please be looking for your invitation to the Greenway Soiree Online Auction in the mail; it will provide more details about how you can participate and show your support for the Wolf River Conservancy.

As always you can visit wolfriver.org to check out our Activity Calendar and to learn more about our other activities.

Thanks for your support.

Keith Cole

Executive Director
