Support WRC on Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday brings people together around the values of giving back. Begin your holiday season with the movement that celebrates giving by supporting the Wolf River Conservancy this December 1st.

 2015 Highlights

Land Conservation: This year we have protected 624 acres, including a 215 acre parcel near the Shelby-Fayette County border that is high in conservation value. Since our beginning in 1985, we have protected over 15,000 acres - a size greater than 3 Shelby Farms Parks and over 342 Overton Parks.

Educational Impact: Connected with 3,077 children and 759 adults through our education programs, workshops and classroom instruction.

Outreach Accomplishments: Over 667 paddlers participated in our recreation and outreach trips, experiencing the Wonder of the Wolf first hand.

Land Trust Accreditation:  The Wolf River Conservancy has joined an elite group having earned national recognition as an accredited land trust committed to transparency, excellence and permanence, an award given to fewer than 20% of land trusts in the United States.

Wolf River Greenway Project: The official groundbreaking for the Wolf River Greenway took place in September with major construction beginning in 2016!

The Ring Challenge Grant:   Help the Wolf River Conservancy further its mission by protecting and preserving unspoiled wetlands on the south side of the Wolf River called the "Triple Z" property. With your support and a matching grant from Ring Container Technologies, the Wolf River Conservancy will be able to acquire this 215 acre property, which is the last piece of protecting an important and critical area of over 4,000 contiguous acres of preserved wetlands within the Wolf River watershed - which is greater in size than 11 Overton Parks! We are counting on our supporters and members to help continue to protect and preserve the Wolf River and its watershed by making your gift today at wolfriver.org/ring-challenge-grant.
