Thank You to Our Service Project Volunteers

Volunteers from Lausanne Collegiate School, International Paper, Christian Brother University, and the community-at-large participated in several service projects in the past month, cleaning up lots of trash of all sizes, clearing invasive plants, and installing nest boxes along the Greenway.

10 students from Lausanne Collegiate School, spent 4 days as Wolf River Conservancy interns, learning about our work and following up with three days of service.  They painted and installed nest boxes along the Wolf River Greenway at Kennedy Park, removed privet along the Wolf River at Shelby Farms Park, and ended the week with a cleanup paddle trip on the urban Wolf River.  Great job, kids, and thanks to Coach Kearl!  And thanks as always to our indefatigable river guides!

Volunteers from International Paper picked up trash and cleared privet at the Kennedy Park Greenway on Sept. 20th, and another IP group will be working on Friday, Sept. 27th.  We'll post photos next enews!

Our Saturday Service Project volunteers on Sept. 21st included several Christian Brothers University students in addition to a number of good citizens from our community.  Picking up trash along the Greenway at Mud Island kept the group very busy.  Besides lots of small trash, they found tires, old construction debris, and other objects. Thank you all!
