Wolf River Harbor Cleanup Set for June 16th

Join the Wolf River Conservancy and Doxicom Global to complete an essential river cleanup of accumulated trash and litter, especially plastics!

Doxicom Global is a waste stream management group, based in Jackson,TN, whose goal is to not only turn landfill waste to zero, but to remove 1,000,000 pounds of plastic from our waterways. To further their mission, Doxicom Global and its army of GreenGooroos (Doxicom staff and franchise partners) will unite with Wolf River Conservancy volunteers to clean up our Memphis Wolf River Harbor.  Doxicom is also committed to recycling all the materials we collect instead of sending them to the landfill.

Several other organizations - 1 Mississippi, Clean Memphis, Bluff City Canoe Club, Quapaw Canoe Company - will join in this effort to clean up and raise awareness of the litter problem in our beloved harbor. So can you!

Join us as we bring out our canoes, kayaks and equipment to clean up the Wolf River Harbor!  Limited gloves and equipment will be provided but please feel free to bring your own.  Also, remember to wear clothes and footwear appropriate for the weather, and to bring any needed supplies like sunscreen, allergy medications, and a refillable water bottle. We will have a Hydration Station with water and other supplies set up at the north end of the Mud Island parking lot, which is also our meeting place for the event.

Volunteers will receive complimentary food and beverages at the People's Day Festival at Mud Island River Park from 12pm-4pm. The festival is hosted by the Memphis River Parks Partnership in lieu of the annual Canoe and Kayak Race this year and will also feature story time, canoe lessons, crafts, and other entertainment.
