Wolf River Restoration Series Concludes with Earth Day

The 2021 Wolf River Restoration Series has concluded with great engagement from the public.  Across the four events of the series (MLK Jr. Day of Service, Annual Tree Planting, World Water Day, and Earth Day), 221 volunteers served 384 hours to improve their neighborhoods, city streets, Wolf River Greenway, and the Wolf River watershed.  Volunteers did everything from planting hundreds of trees to cleaning up tires and trash to creating a gravel trail to building kayak racks and more!  This great impact has come as we all navigate through reduced group sizes and other restrictions due to Covid-19 restrictions.  People were not only inspired to volunteer their time and energy to lend a helping hand, but also tuned into learn more about our natural world through the virtual Restoration Lecture Series.  Over 550 people attended or viewed our virtual lectures.  You can watch most of those lectures on our YouTube page.

Our thanks to the Wolf River Restoration Series Presenting Sponsor, Brother International, and to our o  ther sponsors Bank of America, Buckman, Chris-Hill Construction Co., FedEx, International Paper, and Ring Container Technologies!
