WRC Launches Wolf River Greenway Ambassador Program

WRC Needs You!

The Wolf River Conservancy has a grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis to launch our Wolf River Greenway Ambassador Program. We are looking for a team of 5-10 people to be in our first Ambassador class. This group will go through a training course and have on-the-job training on the existing sections of the Wolf River Greenway Trail. They will go out on foot or bicycle to provide Greenway users with information and assistance and enhance their experiences with guided nature walks or bicycle tours. With our rapidly growing Greenway, we are looking for volunteers to be our eyes and ears to make sure our users have a safe and fun experience out there.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Positive attitude

• Passionate about the WRC mission

• Outgoing and effective communicator

• Ability to walk or bike for extended periods of time

• Willing to engage with the public

• Willing to lead and manage groups

• Willing to commit at least 4 hours per month

• Knowledge of the Wolf River not required! (We will teach you what you need to know)

So, if this list sounds like you, the Wolf River Greenway Ambassador Program might be a great fit and we welcome the opportunity to talk to you about it. To learn more, contact Marie Branch, Special Project Coordinator at marie.branch@wolfriver.org or 901-603-9904. If you are not sure, contact us anyway. We will have an informal “meet and greet” session next month to learn more about the Program and decide if it is right for you or not.
