The Wolf River Conservancy leads a variety of habitat restoration and watershed stewardship service projects throughout the year. Our efforts include trash removal, tree planting, exotic invasive plant removal, nest box installation and other activities.
Public Service Projects
Please look for our monthly public service projects listed on the Activity Calendar and on the Volunteer Odyssey website. The Annual Tree Planting event is our largest volunteer effort each year.
School Service Projects
Educators interested in service learning opportunities for their students should contact WRC Education Director Cathy Justis at education@wolfriver.org.
Boy Scout and Girl Scout Service Projects
Wolf River Conservancy has a long standing relationship working with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. There are a variety of opportunities for depending on the size and ability level of your group. WRC works with one or more Eagle Scout and Gold Star candidates each year on their service projects. Please contact Ryan Hall or Cathy Justis.
Service projects for Community Organizations
There are opportunities throughout Shelby County for community organizations such as churches and civic clubs to work on WRC lands. Projects will vary and are customized for each group’s size and abilities. Some past projects have included riverbank clean-ups, invasive plant removal and tree planting. Business/Corporate Service Projects
Many companies promote community service through their employees. Wolf River Conservancy is delighted to be able to work with corporate partners providing appropriate and meaningful opportunities for folks to get their hands dirty and help improve our community. Contact Ryan Hall.
