Annual Tree Planting

The Wolf River Conservancy's 15th Annual Tree Planting, our longest continual effort to reforest the Wolf River watershed, returns — bigger and better!  Now part of the Wolf River Restoration Series, this family-friendly event is our largest annual volunteer effort with hundreds of volunteers who venture outdoors to help pot and plant thousands of trees.  This year we anticipate potting or planting over 5,200 native tree seedlings to enhance the natural beauty of Shelby Farms Park and to use in subsequent restoration plantings along the Wolf River Greenway and throughout Memphis.

Event Details:
Volunteer Registration: Online Registration will remain open until Wednesday, February 19 at Noon.  (Walk-Up Registration will begin Saturday, February 22 at 9:00 am.)
Sponsor A Tree: For as little as $15, you can sponsor the cost of a tree to be planted at the event, making an even greater impact!  All donations received by Friday, February 14 at Noon will be acknowledged on our website and on a special banner at the Tree Planting.
Date: Saturday, February 22, 2020 | 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Location: Shelby Farms Park  (Gate 11, off Raleigh Lagrange Road)
Parking: There should be adequate on-site parking, but we encourage carpooling if you can.  Please look for our event parking attendants.
Goal: Our goal is to pot-up and plant over 5,000 native tree seedlings, including six species of flowering and bottomland hardwood trees.  These trees will be used for habitat restoration along the Wolf River and within Shelby Farms Park.
