On the Greenway: The 2023 Greenway Ambassador Program

It’s the best time of year to join the Wolf River Greenway Ambassadors! This volunteer program places volunteers on the Wolf River Greenway trail to make a positive impact on the surrounding community. Ambassadors help by interacting with users on and off the trail, performing simple trail maintenance, and submitting online reports. Additionally, Ambassadors provide information to trail users about the Greenway and its history, as well as the conservation efforts of the Wolf River Conservancy. In the program, Ambassadors have the opportunity to contribute to their neighborhood and earn rewards such as REI gift cards through different levels of participation.

Greenway Ambassadors have been instrumental in keeping the Greenway clean and safe for visitors and educating the public about the importance of preserving the Greenway and its natural resources. "The Wolf River Greenway Ambassadors are an essential part of our efforts to protect and promote the Greenway," says Keith Cole, Executive Director of the Wolf River Conservancy. "Their dedication and commitment to the trail and their community is truly appreciated." Folks ages 18 and up who are interested in joining the Wolf River Greenway Ambassadors can sign up on the Wolf River Conservancy website. The Conservancy is working on a Junior Ambassador program to help those under age 18 contribute as well, once the program is fully funded.
