It’s Tree Planting Season!
Thanks to the 20 volunteers who came out to King Rd. near Moscow on Nov. 12th to plant about 200 native trees in a former pine plantation!
There are still over 200 trees in pots which need to go in the ground and volunteers are needed to help us make it happen. Please feel free to bring your own shovel and visit the site any time in December to plant a potted tree - or as many as you like - in the field where the pots are located, now part of Ghost River State Natural Area. Just make sure NOT to plant the trees under or within 15 feet of the small powerline on site. It’s hard but satisfying work, and a great activity for families and friends.
You can help us further by letting us know when you go and how many trees you plant. The tree planting effort is part of a long-term habitat restoration project at this location. Email ryan.hall@wolfriver.org for more information or to report how many trees you planted.
