January 2025: A Message from Our Director
Dear Wolf River Conservancy Friend,
2025 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Wolf River Conservancy. Throughout the last four decades we have evolved from humble beginnings as a grassroots volunteer organization to become the only accredited land trust headquartered in West Tennessee and one of the most effective conservation organizations in the region.
If you are a regular reader of our newsletter or follow us on social media, you have no doubt heard about our ongoing work building the 26-mile Wolf River Greenway. And you most certainly are aware of the more than 20,000 acres of land protected by the Conservancy since 1985. But our story isn’t just about the numbers. It’s about a generation of people who cared enough about their community to act when the green spaces around them began to disappear.
Throughout this year we plan to share the stories of the last 40 years. We’ll be facilitating webinars, creating video and television content, hosting in-person events and more to connect you to the people and places that have defined this movement. As the year progresses, you’ll also begin to see our vision for what the next generation of conservationists can achieve. We are so excited to have you join us as we celebrate our distinguished history and continue our important work securing the future of our part of the natural world.
Join us in celebrating 40 years of the Wolf River Conservancy, protecting over 20,000 acres and building a greener future together!
