Volunteer Spotlight- Gerry Wright

Gerry Wright is a dedicated volunteer for the Wolf River Conservancy. As a Greenway Ambassador, Gerry focuses his time on the Conservancy’s Epping Way property where you might see him riding his bike on any given day, letting us know if there are any issues to be addressed and interacting with visitors.  Gerry, we truly appreciate you for the time you give to help the Conservancy.  For more on Mr. Wright’s background, we’d like to share his summarized bio on his experiences in the great outdoors:

“I became interested in bicycling in the late 80's and started mountain biking/trail riding in the early nineties. Later on, I began bike touring, which led me to ride the Natchez Trace Parkway from end to end.  In 1998, I tackled the entire Mississippi River back roads from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Lake Itasca, MN, completing this lengthy tour in four sections.  I greatly enjoy riding on the Wolf River Greenway in addition to many rails to trails across the country. In 2013 in June I completed a coast-to-coast tour from Sea Side, Oregon, to Thomaston, Maine in three and half months and 4,328 miles.  I am happy to serve as an ambassador for the Greenway and am pleased that Wolf River Conservancy is willing to share my story.”
