May 2022: A Message from Our Director
Dear Wolf River Conservancy friend,
With 14 miles of the Wolf River Greenway now open to the public, it is exciting to see bikers and hikers increasing their usage of the trail every week. It is also exciting that the Wolf River Conservancy is providing a wide variety of free community programs which offer additional reasons to enjoy the Wolf River Greenway and beyond.
Just look at what we have planned for the Memorial Day weekend on the Wolf River Greenway…
- Mushroom Meander at the Wolf River Crossing
- Wildflower Wander at Epping Way
- Barre Class at Mud Island
Out in beautiful Ghost River State Natural Area, one of our most popular activities, the annual Frog Chorus Walk, is scheduled for the evening of May 28th, offering the unique experience of being immersed in the sights and sounds of a southern swamp at night.
And we have even more for you!
For those who would like to enjoy the Wolf River Greenway while also showing their financial support for the Wolf River Conservancy, our Discover the Greenway event begins on June 18th!
Discover the Greenway is an annual fundraising event directly supporting conservation, education, and recreation at the Wolf River Conservancy. It is an great family friendly event providing a flexible approach to experiencing different segments of the Wolf River Greenway with a chance to win some great prizes. For more information on how to participate please visit this link.
Finally, we have two interesting online lectures scheduled for June. We will discuss the details of our Cornerstone Habitat Restoration Project on June 15th, and Rita Venable returns with another wonderful butterfly program on June 29th.
It is only through the continued financial support of our individual donors and corporate benefactors that we can continue to provide great programming while also delivering on our core mission of land conservation. For a complete listing of our current benefactors, please see this link.
Be sure to check our Activity Calendar for upcoming events such as Discover the Greenway!
Thank you all for your continued support.
