Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris, Director of Memphis Parks Nick Walker, and other community members joined Wolf River Conservancy board and staff members to officially open the newest section of the Wolf River Greenway with a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 17th. The new section connects the Wolf River Greenway, Germantown Greenway, and Shelby Farms Greenline through the Lucius Burch State Natural Area. It includes both a magnificent 270-foot cable-stayed suspension bridge over the Wolf River and a raised boardwalk through the State Natural Area which allows water and wildlife to move freely beneath it. Dubbed the Wolf River Crossing section of the Greenway, it helps to connect over 75 miles of pedestrian trails in Shelby County.
